Tim Hecker regresa con su noveno disco y regresa al sello Kranky. Un álbum que se inspira en las conversaciones con un amigo recientemente fallecido. -Konoyo- fue grabado en su mayor parte en un templo japonés en las afueras de Tokio en colaboración con el conjunto de gagaku Tokyo Gakuso. Hecker manipula sus sonidos de origen (cuerdas, vientos de madera, percusión) y reconfigura y esculpe la materia prima sonora con su propia visión. El estado de ánimo sombrío resultante tiene un peso ritual y ceremonial , como si estuviera canalizando comunicaciones desde el gran más allá.
