Hay algo perversamente fabuloso en la idea de que esta retorcida obra maestra acabase en 60.000 desprevenidos hogares británicos en 1973. El tercer álbum de Faust llegó a las tiendas para celebrar su fichaje por la naciente Virgin Records, que buscaba aprovechar la moda de la música alemana de la época. Sin dejarse intimidar por el hecho de que la falta de voluntad de la banda para comprometerse con el panorama comercial les había hecho abandonar Polydor, Branson y compañía prepararon una estrategia de marketing convenientemente espectacular, vendiendo el LP a 49 peniques, el precio de ganga de un single. Los compradores acudieron en masa para hacerse con una copia, corrieron a casa y pasaron los siguientes cuarenta y cinco minutos comprobando si aquello no era defectuoso, golpeando los altavoces y haciendo sonar la aguja, todo ello en vano. No ajusten , esto es FAUST!. Un clásico.
