Nuevo y quinto trabajo de Ben Frost tras tres años desde su anterior álbum Aurora. Además se ha dedicado este tiempo a proyectos de bandas sonoras (Fortitude, Rainbow Six), y colaboraciones con artistas de la talla de Brian Eno , Swans o Daniel Bjarmason. The Centre...fué grabado en Chicago con la ayuda de Steve Albini como productor. Texturas oscuras , ambientes abstractos y atmósferas abrasivas , que se funden a veces con melodías luminosas y sonoridades propias de bandas sonoras. Frost la define como “Música que no está totalmente controlada y parece estar ansiosa”. También es un ejercicio de limitación y saturación cromática, “The Centre Cannot Hold” es un intento de transcribir en sonidos el espectro del azul ultramarino fluorescente. Vibrante e inquietante como solo Frost es capaz de transmitir.
