HYbr:ID Vol. 2 es la segunda entrega de la serie HYbr:ID de Alva Noto iniciada en 2021. El nuevo álbum recoge la música encargada para la banda sonora de Ectopia, de Richard Siegal, representada en 2021 por el Tanztheater Pina Bausch. Partiendo de la cautivadora mezcla de dub inmersivo y electrónica de la primera entrega, HYbr:ID Vol. 2 lleva al oyente a un viaje por el reino de la producción digital intrincadamente manipulada. Estas diez composiciones se adentran en el infinito, inspirándose en la resonancia y la elasticidad, conceptos arraigados en el modelo cuatridimensional del espacio-tiempo de Minkowski. A lo largo de todo el álbum, Carsten Nicolai invoca patrones rítmicos precisos que flotan con gracia, recordando a cuerpos celestes orbitando al unísono cósmico perfecto. El paisaje sonoro se despliega gradualmente con tonos sombríos y melancólicos, incorporando un diseño sonoro espacioso, atmósferas etéreas y percusiones metálicas en cascada. Estos elementos están elaborados con delicadeza y finura artística, sobre un telón de fondo de texturas dub expansivas. A veces, la música toma giros imprevistos, como acordes melancólicos que patinan y serpentean a través de una bruma digital, evocando una atmósfera de introspección y emoción. Las diez composiciones van acompañadas de anotaciones gráficas inspiradas en los códigos sonoros y acústicos del álbum.
