Fur Voice, aka David Gracia, releases his fourth studio album Destiny Does Not Exist, three years after Passion Tuning (Mutabor Records and Amén Discos 2022). While it preserves his signature elements, this new work marks a significant shift in trajectory — diving deeper into analog synthesis, lyrical and processed vocals, and the tension between techno rhythm and deconstructed ambient.

“It’s Over”, the opening track, begins in a fading echo, through a detuned tremolo frequency that reappears in variation across almost the whole album, guiding the ear toward the unexpected. Sophisticated yet stripped down to a synth arpeggio paced by a drum machine, it bridges body and mind through the rawness of its production and the authenticity of a voice capable of conveying complex emotions.

As the album unfolds, his voice multiplies, singing melodies that drift freely from near to far, gliding between arpeggios and glissandi. It evokes images of life and death, water and stars, identity and destiny —as in the album’s luminous, self-titled track.

Experimental in spirit, the album gains depth through the presence of silence, especially in “Vacío”, which propels its most baroque moments —like “Stardust”, deeply emotional, as unconventional as it is captivating. Like the disintegration of a human body or a song for the dancefloor, key roles are played by “SsS”, “Liquid Sand”, “Saber despedir” —a kind of requiem sung in Spanish— as well as “Roller Coaster”, tracing the rise and fall of opposing states of mind, and inviting us to embrace the vertigo.

Gracia turns inward to explore how the outside world resonates through the body —the sound that still vibrates after leaving a club or a show, and what remains of someone once they’re gone.
