Tras su reciente y exitosa actuación el el festival LEV de su ciudad Gijón, LCC (antes Las CasiCasiotone) debutan en el sello austriaco Mego en formato físico con un muy notable álbum de música electrónica sobre el que bastantes críticas coinciden en definir como un estilo de ambient orgánico (reminiscencias de clásicos como Eno) y emotivo, que refleja cierta tensión entre sonidos cálidos, naturales y luminosos frente a otros más sintéticos y ásperos. Utilizando grabaciones tratadas e instrumentos electrónicos, Ana Quiroga y Uge Pañeda (LCC) definen su propia música como “electrónica con alma” , y en su disco nos invitan a una reflexión sobre la paradoja de la relación hombre-tierra, que ha pasado de ser simbiótica a una parasitaria. LCC llevan ya algunos años trabajando en la música y han mostrado su interés por las bandas sonoras, algo que también se refleja en el álbum. Comentario del sello: After a a couple of digital only releases Editions Mego is now set to release their first physical full length entitled d/evolution. Encapsulating the paradox between man and earth. It reflects on the paradigm that is Evolution, and examines the extent to which our development and technological advancement, which is inevitably bound to the extraction and processing of minerals from the earth, has broken and deformed our natural environment. Depleting our resources in an unsustainable way turns what had previously been a symbiotic relationship between humans and the earth into a parasitic one. Man’s natural rhythms are kept in check by nature’s rhythms, and vice versa. There is a constant fight to maintain the fragile equilibrium. d/evolution plays with this ambiguity: it juxtaposes warm soundscapes with unexpected ones, simultaneously evokes images of urban and natural environments, transforms synthetic sounds into organic ones, all with the objective of taking us closer to our origins.
