Statische Musen is the follow-up to Asmus Tietchen's Hematic Sunsets project. »Bubendey. Memorialmusik auf eine Brache« was recorded by Tietchens and his three alter egos Ute Massensicht, Ines Schmettsau and Senta Steumisch, who also wrote liner notes on the title-giving fallow land:

»Decades ago, industry withdrew from this site, leaving behind bizarre ruins whose years of decay did not progress quickly, but clearly did. Eventually the ruins were demolished. Grass initially grew on the levelled area. Repeated attempts to establish new industry or even create living space here failed due to the contaminated soil and the remote location of the wasteland. In the meantime, grass and other plants have flourished and small birch trees are already forming a modest copse. The smell of paraffin has faded.«
