Geometrik Records (the Esplendor Geométrico label) in association with Munster Records presents the new álbum by ORFEON GAGARIN, the Miguel A. Ruiz’s main Project, one of the leading names in experimental music in Spain, a true pioneer of the risky and underground Spanish electronic- music scene since the early eighties.

 In 1986 he released his first cassette on his own label Toracic Tapes. Since then he has remained active at the international network of underground electronic music. He has composed many solo albums in all formats, especially on cassette, under different names such as Funeral Souvenir, Exhaustor, Michel Des Airlines, Ventral Metaphor,  Orfeon Gagarin, and his own: Miguel A.Ruiz.  His first vinyl LP was "Encuentros en la Tercera Edad" (1991) produced by the German electronics master AsmusTietchens on his label Hamburger Musikgesellschaft.  In the following years, and up to the present day, he has published with other respected international labels like, Old Europa Café, Aquarelist, Monochrome Vision, Menstrual Recordings, Abstrakce, Geometrik Records,…

Has also collaborated with musicians from different countries such as Cisfinitum (Codachrom), Siegmar Fricke (Efficient Refineries) Dieter Mauson, Francisco López, Stefano Barban, etc.

Ruiz's style is fantastic and surprising, with an imagination that can be considered as overwhelming. Science, technology, soviet space era, Borges, surrealism, clinical pathologies, black humour or extra-planetary life…, whatever eccentricity has a place within the microcosm of this artist. His music is considered as bizarre, surreal, dark and funny at the same time, using in a very personal and original way very different styles in an amazing and unique universe.

 After his last two albums as Orfeon Gagarin, ‘Voces a 45’ (Geometrik-Munster, 2019) and ‘Salmos Funiculares’ (Artificial Owl, 2022), now he presents a new álbum:  ORFEON GAGARIN & THE SUPERMOON ORCHESTRA, which includes 8 gems of extraterrestrial electronic pseudo-pop. The perfect music for a intergalactic party, where he shows his fascination by the sonic possibilities of old synthesizers and other analog electronic instruments.

 

Another highlight is the wonderful cover, a painting by the renowned Madrid artist Adamo Dimitriadis.  Limited edition  (250 copies)
