“This collaboration is different, given the successive production phases, but it is no less interesting. Apart from the matter of trust (both artists need to rely on each other’s sound judgement), there is always the question of who inspires who to what. The path towards a result turns this combination of sources and treatments into something entirely new. Tietchens might have the last word (or so you would think), but even then his partner co-decides what happens.
