Arquitecto sonoro, experto en el uso de samplers, giradiscos, secuenciadores y máquinas de ritmos, pero sobre todo creador de complejas fusiones musicales empapadas de diversas referencias, así es como podemos describir a David Shea. Frecuentemente asociado con la escena musical experimental de Nueva York, de donde surgieron artistas como John Zorn, Anthony Coleman, Bill Frisell, Marc Ribot, Fred Frith, Ikue Mori y Bill Laswell. The Tower of Mirrors está considerado como su obra maestra. Un álbum de culto publicado originalmente en 1995 solo en CD y también por Sub Rosa y que ahora celebra su 25 aniversario con esta lujosa edición en soporte vinilo por primera vez (doble LP) . Compuesto y producido por David Shea en Nueva York, durante septiembre-octubre de 1995, incluye 24 pistas donde colaboran diversos músicos como David Morley (R&S) en programación de sintetizador analógico, Dave Douglas en trompeta, Zeena Parkins en piano y piano preparado, y Jim Pugliese en percusiones.
