¿Ha oído hablar de la lista Nurse With Wound? Si es usted aficionado a la música creativa-experimental-inusual, sin duda. Por tanto, sabrá que entre las recomendaciones que Steven Stapleton deslizó en el primer álbum de su grupo Nurse With Wound, se encontraban unas cuantas ranas inquietas: Jef Gilson, Luc Ferrari, Jacques Thollot, Urban Sax, Horde Catalytique y por último pero no menos importantes, Jean-Jacques Birgé y Francis Gorgé. Steve Stapleton admiraba su álbum Défense de. El inglés buscaba colaboradores para un recopilatorio que publicaría en su sello United Dairies, que había creado con John Fothergill, y recurrió naturalmente a Birgé y Gorgé, que entonces tocaban con Bernard Vitet en "Un drame musical Instantané".
El acuerdo estaba cerrado y la recopilación se llamaría In Fractured Silence. Junto a Nurse With Wound y Un drame musical instantané, podían escucharse Hélène Sage (a quien Birgé presentó a Stapleton) y Sema, un proyecto del músico experimental británico Robert Haigh que había participado en discos clave de la discografía de Nurse With Wound, como Homotopy to Marie y Spiral Insana.
El álbum salió originalmente en vinilo y cassette en 1984 en el legendario sello de NWW United Dairies. Ahora se reedita remasterizado en el sello de Paris Souffle Continu.
