40 AÑOS NOS ILUMINAN (40 years enlighten us) is a special edition release celebrating the 40th anniversary of legendary Spanish electronic pioneers Esplendor Geométrico. This is NOT a “best” of or “collection” but an all NEW album!
40 Años Nos Iluminan is not just another EG album, as they have reinvented themselves by taking inspiration from their own long career since 1980. The new tracks included in “40 años…” offer better sound and compositions full of details, sometimes subtle, opening a new path of exploration that goes beyond the typical current industrial music, loaded with clichés. Here E.G. experiment with noise, recorded voices, striking collages, and their trademark hypnotic rhythms of industrial trance. 40 years… marks a turning and evolution of E.G., which however still sounds like E.G.
The album includes 16 NEW tracks in the double vinyl version and 24 in the double CD. Four cuts are versions-reconstructions of old EG tracks by close artists , like Atom TM, Most Significant Beat, Pragma (Clock DVA, TeZ), and Moral Order.
In 40 years, E.G. have left a discography of 23 albums, as well as singles, contributions to compilations, and cassettes published in different countries (Spain,Germany, Japan, USA, France…). They have collaborated with other artists like Francisco López (Biomechanica,with Arturo Lanz), Hijokaidan (E.G.Kaidan), Maurizio Bianchi (with Saverio Evangelista)… They have performed in more than 100 shows in Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Japan, USA, UK, Russia, Lithuania, Poland, Sweden, Belgium, Switzerland, Holland, Denmark, Chile,… and a full length documentary film about them, (Geometría del Esplendor José Ramón da Cruz 2016), has been filmed and has received various awards.
FORMATS:
-Fold-out 6-panel double CD digipack that includes 4-page insert with texts and photos. CD1 includes the 16 tracks of the vinyl version and CD2 includes 8 exclusive bonus tracks, on a limited edition of 500 copies too.
-Two Sub-editions each one available on double vinyl or double CD limited to 120 copies each that you can also find on our website. They include a 8-page comic & ilustrations in an A4-size insert, made by the award-winning and prestigious artist MIGUEL A.MARTIN exclusively for this sub-edition. Martin has made illustrations and album covers in the past for other cult artists such as Whitehouse or M.B.. These sub-editions will be sold exclusively through Geometrik Records/ Rotor record store, and a few select stores. The sub-edition of the double CD is offered in a special package, that includes an 8-A4 pages insert in a cardboard envelope that will be manually sealed with two original EG ink stamps, and numbered on a special sticker with a retro-industrial design.
